In our Zoom Phone environment, we operate using two types of Zoom Phone licenses:
- Zoom Phone Basic
- Zoom Phone Unlimited
Zoom Phone Basic consists of an unlimited quantity and are usually assigned to adjuncts, part time staff, temp employees and student employees. These licenses provide instant messaging (Zoom Chat) and internal calling within the college; however, they do not give the individuals the ability to receive or make external calls. Additionally Zoom Phone Basic licenses exempt the employee from being part of any call queues or shared lines.
Zoom Phone Unlimited licenses are limited in quantity and are typically assigned to full time staff and faculty of the college. They unlock features such as receiving and making external calls and let the individuals be part of call queues. Individuals with this license type can also be assigned admin roles to supervise certain call queues and auto attendants.
The college owns a limited amount of Zoom Phone Unlimited licenses. We understand that there may be occasions where an adjunct, part time staff, temp employee or student employee is in need of one to perform their duties. We have a Cognito form below that needs to be completed and approved by their supervisor so that we can keep track of these licenses. These requests must be completed each semester and are subject to supervisor approval and are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can find a link to the Cognito form below:
