iPhone - MFA Registration and Login Instructions

Overview

This article provides instructions for setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on an iPhone using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

MFA verifies your identity using:

  • Something you know: your password
  • Something you have: your iPhone

The Microsoft Authenticator app generates a 6-digit verification code that refreshes every 30 seconds.

  • An iPhone
  • Microsoft Authenticator app installed

Download & Install Microsoft Authenticator for iPhone:

Getting Started (iPhone)

  1. After installing Microsoft Authenticator, log in to myHACC and select "I want to do this now":

  2. Locate your secret code and tap it once to copy:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  3. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your iPhone.
     
  4. Tap the + icon in the top right corner.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  5. Select Other.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  6. Your camera will now open but we want to manually enter the code. Select “Or enter code manually” at the bottom. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  7. Enter the following:
    Account Name: HACC
    Secret Code: Paste the code you copied

  8. Your account will display with a 6-digit code.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  9. Return to the setup screen, enter the current 6-digit code, and select Verify.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Important Notes

  • The verification code refreshes every 30 seconds.
  • Be sure to enter the code before it expires.
  • If the code expires, use the newly displayed code.
  • You will be offered a few one-time use codes that you can use as a backup to login in during an emergency where your registered device is lost, stolen, or unavailable.
