Office 365 For Mac - Unable to Edit:

Users may report the inability to edit documents in the Mac version of Office 365, despite having validated the license via hacc.onthehub.com successfully. If this is the case, the following instructions can be followed and are current as of May 2023:

Assumptions:

User has admin privileges to their Mac and is currently signed into the profile under which they run Office 365 (knows system password if prompted, most users meet this criteria)

hacc.onthehub.com (Kivuto) eligibility and activation confirmed

Office 365 online account created and an app license is assigned or available for the device

Step 1: Use the MS license removal tool found here to resolve this issue:

Step 2: If Step 1 doesn’t work, then follow the process below by deleting certain files in the Mac user's profile:
